How do I disconnect my chlorinator from my other pool equipment?
- Turn OFF the power to all the pool equipment.
- Close OFF any applicable valve before the WATERMAID® Cell to prevent water going everywhere.
- Unplug the pump plug, which is plugged into the bottom of the WATERMAID® Power Supply.
- Unscrew the WATERMAID® Cell barrel nuts, at both ends of the Cell.
(Please note: The top one will unscrew anti-clockwise and the bottom one will unscrew clock-wise). - Pull out the WATERMAID® Cell from the pipe work and rest on the ground.
- Lift the WATERMAID® Power Supply upwards and off its wall bracket.
(Please note: the WATERMAID® Power Supply weighs 10 Kgs or 22 lb)

What is the likely turn-around for the repair?
Generally, our turn-around is 24 hours, from the time of quote acceptance. In peak periods, times may vary slightly.
I think the power supply is not working but the Cell is ok?
Even if you suspect only one item is not working, it is preferable to inspect both the Cell and Power Supply together. Sometimes faults are missed if part of the puzzle is missing, which may result in delays, an incorrect diagnosis or additional freight.
What if my chlorinator cannot be repaired or is unsafe?
Sometimes the cost of repairing an item exceeds the price of a brand new item; in this case it would not be economical to proceed with a repair. We will advise customers at the time of quotation if this is the case.
Chlorinators operate in harsh environments over long periods of time. In cases where the chlorinator has exceeded a safe working life or has severe corrosion, a repair may not be possible due to electrical safety risks. We will advise customers at the time of quotation if this is the case. A chlorinator deemed unsafe will be tagged with a DANGER label, which is a legal requirement.
My chlorinator could not be repaired and I would like a new one
In cases where a repair is not viable or unsafe, we will offer a trade-in to all customers, regardless of make or model.
Is there a warranty on repairs?
Yes, Watermaid Pty Ltd offers a 3 month warranty only on the actual work carried out by Watermaid Pty Ltd. Watermaid also boasts a fully equipped work-shop, and all electrical items are tested and tagged to ensure your chlorinator is safe prior to being returned.
